Antichrist

I John 2:21-23

I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist—he denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

I John 4:2-4

This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Matthew 7:14-16

But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?"

This is the easiest set of verses I have read in a long time. Due to that, this is going to be an extremely short lesson. Clearly, anyone who does not proclaim Jesus as the Christ, or Messiah, is not of God. Yes, this can be difficult for some people to stomach. However, it's as clear as someone who does not stand for communism is not a communist. In the very words of Jesus in Matthew 12:30-31, "He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters. And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven." Want to know where someone stands? Listen carefully. As Jesus said in the verses in Matthew 7, the false prophets "come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves."
